Najla El Tounsia is a Tunisian singer, actress and dancer.
El Tounsia means Tunisian in Arabic; Najla therefore naturally comes from Tunisia though she lived most of her life in Egypt.
Najla El Tounsia started her career as an actress and a belly dancer. In the year 2005, Najla decided to venture into the music industry. This was right after Hayfa Wehbeh had launched thea trend of models-turned-singers.
Najla videoclip for the song Hatlob Eidak (I will ask for your hand) got a lot of bad reviews from art and entertainment critics, who thought that her provocative ways and the scene with the horse was a little bit too much for the Arab world and verged on bestiality.
Najla also had a videoclip for her song Bah (Finish/Empty) in which she is dressed as a female mechanic in a car workshop.
Almost all of Najla videos were banned from the television due to its content, many of her clips were edited many times in order to retain decency.
