Tarek William Saab Halabi is a Venezuelan-Lebanese politician, poet, lawyer and a human rights activist.
Tarek William Saab was born 1963 in El Tigre, Anzoátegui, Venezuela from two Lebanese immigrants.
He is the leader of the Fifth Republic Movement – MVR a political party founded by the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez.
In 1999, Tarek became a member of the Constitutional Assembly which drafted the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
In 2000, Tarek William Saab was elected as a member of the Venezuelan National Assembly.
In 2004, Tarek William Saab became the the Governor of Anzoátegui.
Saab studied criminal law at the Universidad Santa María. He also studied human rights law at the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
