A Cypriot friend of mine, who came from Cyprus yesterday, has just told me that her family is taking care of 3 Lebanese children who live in their house without their parents. The father of my friend, Christina, has been for the past 5 days taken his small boat and going to the borders to pick up Lebanese people. As Christina described it: (Cypriot houses are full of Lebanese people. They are everywhere.) She adds: (We have passed through this when the Turkish were invading us. We are there to help you.)
Cypriots have opened their houses to all Lebanese refugees as their government cannot afford hotel charges.
We, the Lebanese, send our warmest regards to all the Cypriots in Cyprus and we thank you for your help and understanding.
Very much appreciated!
From Lebanon… Thank you Cyprus
