According to the Time Magazine, the year 2006 was so much different. The year 2006 was by far the year of the World Wide Web which became a tool for bringing together the small contributions of millions of people and making them something huge.
People of the year 2006 do not need Television anymore to watch and know what is going in people minds. We can learn more about how Americans live or how Arabs deal with their fights just by looking at the videos posted daily and hourly on YouTube.
People of Today not just buy online or browse for books on Amazon, we reviewed books, record podcasts. We blogged about our candidates losing and wrote songs about getting dumped.
Blogging has become so important in today’s world, that Reuters itself is carrying blog postings next to its news feed.
Today is world were millions of minds are looking at an explosion of productivity and innovation to prove themselves in the cyber world out-there.
Time Magazine tried to find out who those people are? Who is making the next generation of the world wide wide something which is called Web version 2.0.
Those people actually spend lots of hours on the PC, either watching or contributing in making this web a reality. Those people are not willing to watch TV or spend time with family. To such people Time Magazine said… Congratulation.. You are the people of the Year 2006.
And so we truly believe that it’s not just us who deserve this award. It is also YOU, people who visit our site on a daily basis, people like you who give your comments on every article, on every happening in our country and in the world.
You and us are framing the new digital democracy, for working for nothing and beating the pros at their own game, TIME’s Person of the Year for 2006 is you and us.
So let’s welcome the year 2007 with more enthusiasm to work and produce more for a better life.
