Tahia Carioca also known as Tahiya Karioka was a very popular Belly dancer.
Tahia Carioca was born in the year 1920; She passed away in 1999.
Carioca was born in the Egyptian countryside and was known by her real name Badawiya Abdel Karim.
Tahia loved to dance; however her family did not accept her as a dancer. She fled to Cairo and began dancing at the Badia Masbnin Casino Opera at the age of fourteen.
Tahiya learned oriental dancing and ballet. She stopped dancing in the year 1952.
