The 20th annual World Music Award ceremony will take place this year in Monaco, on the 9th of this month. As usual, the Arab artists will get a fair shot at one of the awards reserved for the Middle East.

However, the interesting difference this year is the two overlapping claims by the representatives of Elissa and Nancy Ajram, both affirming the acceptance of the award. Waaeht?! Well, this is not so unexpected given we do not have an impartial and unbiased source to clearly measure the record sales for each of the protagonists.

Wouldn’t be nice if Amr Diab pays more and gets it instead? Because frankly this is how this award has been perceived lately, a mere matter of bargaining talent.

Our contacts have assured us the most deserving artist for this year’s award is Mohammad Hamaki, given his great breakthrough in recent years and his incredible record sales all across the Arab world.

The official website for the World Music Award hasn’t yet posted the names of the winners for this year.

The ceremony, hosted by American hottie Jesse Metcalfe, will be opened by the equally sexy Beyoncé, so make sure you don’t miss it!
