Vidya Balan was born on the first of January 1978 in Palakkad Kerala India, She comes from a Tamil Iyer family.
In 1998 she started her career as a model in Surf Excel advertisement. Following she took role in over 25 advertisments like Ponds and others.
In the year 2006 she won the Best Female Debut Award for her performance in the movie Parineeta during the Filmfare festival.
