Just after Miss Universe 2006 was over, it was time for Miss World 2006.

Czech Republic came through to win the coveted crown as Miss World 2006, in a glittering and star-studded ceremony at the Sala Kongresowa, Warsaw, Poland.

104 beautiful women including Lebanese first runner-up Anabella Hilal spent the past month touring the Eastern European country’s cities, beaches and countryside, getting reading for the Big Event.

Miss World 2006 was a magnificent event with international judges and global public voting all were ready to make this years Winner a reality.

Tatana Kucharova, an 18-year-old student from the Czech Republic was crowned Miss World out of 104 beautiful and talented contestants, with Romania named first runner-up, followed by Australia as second runner-up.

In a last minute twist, the judges were unable to decide between contestants in the Asia Pacific continental group, so three girls from that group went through to the final 17 semi finalists.

Lebanon representation in this event was not through Miss Lebanon 2006 Gabrielle Bou Rached, but rather Anabella Hilal , first runner-up of Miss Lebanon 2005/2006.

Anabella’s beauty got her to reach the top 10 finalist list. Anabella is a true beauty of Lebanon who resembles Lynda Carter from Wonder Woman back in the 80s.

Miss World final is the World’s largest live annual TV event with global viewing figures topping two billion across nearly 200 countries.

Tatana Kucharova is an 18 year-old student from the Czech Republic. Tatana Kucharova won the Miss World 2006 beauty contest on Saturday 30 September 2006.

Kucharova competed against 103 beautiful women in voting by a panel of judges and television viewers around the world during a two-hour finals ceremony in the Polish capital.

Miss World 2006 was the 56th edition of the annual beauty pageant.

First runner-up of Miss World 2006 was Joana Valentina Boitor, a 17-year-old girl from Romania. Second Runner-up was Sabrina Houssami, 20 yearold girl from Australia.

Tatana Kucharova blew hot kisses to more than 2,600 people from the audience who were watching the event at the Warsaw’s Congress Hall.

Tatana Kucharova received her diamond crown from Miss World 2005, Unnur Birna Vilhjalmsdottir of Iceland.
