Maloof rejects the title of artist although his admirers consider his works masterpieces of woodworking. Maloof designs evolve from one to another, in a constant state of evolution, rather than revolution. His work has been displayed in museums around the USA. In 1985 he was named a MacArthur Fellow. Both Presidents Carter and Reagan have owned a Maloof rocker.[edit]External linksSmithsonian Institute Art Museum pages on Sam MaloofA visit with Sam MaloofSam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for the Arts and CraftsThis article about joinery, carpentry or woodworking is a stub.
