HCI regional office in Lebanon is actively involved in building self-sustainable short and long term development projects in addition to providing relief and humanitarian assistance for the sake of the disadvantaged groups.HCI gained enormous experience working in Lebanon ; its activities include the implementation of projects through funding and matching funds from various international agencies, mainly Human Concern International - Canada . During the war in Lebanon Human Concern International (HCI) assistance included mattresses, food and medications for the needy. Many dispensaries working in the region benefited from the medical assistance program. After the wars end, Human Concern realized the necessity to shift from relief assistance and emergency aids to development activities that ensure the sustainability of the services delivered. HCI cooperated with several agencies to achieve this shift for the benefit of the local communities all over Lebanon . Within this frame HCI built a strong partnership with the Near East Foundation (NEF) and other development agencies; this partnership has the objective to promote the delivery of training workshops for the staff of the Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Governmental Organizations (Gos) and local groups; in addition to, it has the objective to implement development projects and provide technical assistance for the local communities where potential projects exist.Copyright copy; 2002-2003 Human Concern International - Lebanon.Last modified: September 26, 2003
