After completing his graduate studies in architecture and earning a masters degree in urban planning with honors (Columbia University, New York), Nabil Gholam joined Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura and became Senior Partner in charge of international projects.
In 1994, after seven years of living and working in France, Spain, China and the United States, and bringing to completion a broad range of projects in over twenty countries, Nabil Gholam decided to set up his own practice. Armed with the experience of having designed and built in this wide variety of economic and cultural environments, he moved back to Lebanon, the war-torn homeland he had left at the age of 12. Thus, NG Architecture & Planning started with one architect, on a single commission, aiming to build a dedicated team of professionals, with the diverse skills and attitude required for conceiving, detailing and supervising every project.
Whether working on a complex master plan, a specialized building, or a domestic object, NG approaches the design process seamlessly, through research and dialogue, taking into account the broader social, cultural and economic concerns.
