Its mission is to providequalityresearch in the field of human resource management, as well as to design anddeliver human resource development programs and services in Lebanon and theMiddle East. This is to be achieved through the efforts and commitment offaculty, staff, professional volunteers, and the business community at large.HRI ObjectivesThefield of human resources management is in transition. An institutional andsomewhat chatty literature is being replaced by more analytical work, which isbased on empirical investigation and rigorous theory. While Lebanons humanresources were being destroyed and neglected, human resources management haschanged during the past two decades. It is now a science that provides detailedand unambiguous answers to the issues that trouble managers today. The HumanResources Institute will disseminate the latest HR thinking and, through itsdiverse activities, fill in the knowledge and awareness gap that characterizeshuman resources management in Lebanon. In pursuit of its mission, the HumanResources Institute seeks to achieve the following goals:Create a sense of national awareness as to the strategic importance ofeffective HR management.Serve as a global forum for presenting the latest thinking and information onthe HR implications of key business issues and strategic HR practices.Identify and conduct innovative research studies on current perspectives,issues, and problems in HR management and development.Offer a broad range of professional training and development programs withdistinguished HR and management scholars, practitioners, and business leaders.Build networks of diverse individuals to exchange leading-edge HR ideas,information, and experience.Provide a publication program covering the latest thinking and research in thefield.Address human resources needs in Lebanon and the Middle East.Develop a human resources database and make it available to human resourcesprofessionals.Act as a consultant on organizational development.Maximize academic and professional links between LAU and the Lebanese BusinessCommunity.Provide a platform for job placement and career development for Universitygraduates in connection with both the private and the public sectors.Serve as a certifying body for HR practices.Interact with the public sector and legislators for the advancement of HR lawsand policies within Lebanon.Contact InformationDirectorMr.Fuad W.
