The concept and how I came up with (La Galerie des 20) is that I was sitting on my couch at home one day and I was just thinking about how much I like painting. So I was trying to come up with idea to be unique and different from all the other painters and what they are doing.
If I just did what every other painter does and put my paintings in a gallery it would just be the same as everyone else just selling their paintings. So I came up with this concept and it was a plus! And suddenly it all hit me painting that are 20 by 20 for 20$.
And since it was all 20s why not naming it "La Galerie des 20"
At the beginning I thought I should find a small shop and exhibit my paintings there. But then my goal wanted to sell as much paintings as possible, so I thought again and said why stick to one place? 20x20cm paintings @ 20$ are usually considered art. Affordable to all types of people, and to be able to reach all these types I had to go to malls…
November 2003:
1st appearance in BHV Jnah
The 1st two weeks selling was too slow, so, I was kind of disappointed… and thought that maybe my concept is not as good as it should be, but after 3 months, and when I saw the number of paintings sold, I started thinking of growing….
