Stay tuned for details.Well done Queensland and their Bronco Team Well done Cedars 2006 ChampionsThe final was held at El Salvador soccer club on Saturday the 23rd of September. Appearing in their 4th final in 3 years, the A.L.A.Qs Cedars Soccer team faced one of their toughest finals to date against season leaders the ?West End Old Boys?. The Cedar?s were off to a nervous start conceding an early goal in the first 10 minutes, yet their trademark sprit surfaced once again and were able to fend off numerous well orchestrated attacks to hold that score line till the end of the first half. The second half was a remarkable turn of events; 7 minutes into the second halfthe Cedars Team received a free kick 35 metres out from the opposition goal as a result of a desperate tackle on Chris Lapper?s attempt at goal. Bobby Bran took the free kick and passed it to Nehme Ghanem who fired it into the opposition keeper, the keeper?s fumble resulted in the ball going into the path of Adonis Ghanem who then finished the job to even out the score. At this point the team and the support crowd had lifted, not even 5 minutes passed when Daniel Rodriguez dribbled past three defenders to fire off a shot that beat the keeper and put the ?Cedars? ahead and the crowd was ecstatic. The ?West End Old Boys? team had been shocked and were now on the back foot pushing hard for the equalizer. The ?Cedars? defence had done their job and held the score at 2-1.
